This subcommittee focuses on:

1. Advancing the state of knowledge of the environmental, human health, and safety impacts of novel cellulose materials
2. Evaluating and standardizing methods and practices for assessing safety
3. Identifying opportunities to improve product stewardship
4. Supporting the development of international standards
5. Updating the community on relevant regulatory developments
